*.* My very brave dog *.*

Before I begin with my dog story, I shall talk about my eventful night that I had yesterday. Ben invited me to his specialist night and I must say the sexy dance turned me off. Even his friend found it sick. Anyway, I was pulled up on stage just to be partner with someone else to dance. Ben was pulled up too to show his muscular body. Anyway, it was pretty boring but quite an experience for me.

Alright, my brave dog story. I brought my dog for her annual vaccination and then I decided that she should have her microchip injected as well so that I can apply for the dog license. The veterinarian injected her butt and when he took out the microchip I was shocked. It was almost 1 inch long and 0.5mm wide. It looked like a mental piece with a blade. He was telling me that it is painful and might bleed. I looked away as he injected that microchip into my dog's shoulders and I heard a scream. My dog was screaming in pain. My heart broke. Thank God she didn't bleed at all. For your information, dogs scream too. She screams when you accidentally step on her tail or her feet and I think that microchip must be very painful. I can't imagine that thing goes into my flesh, under my skin.

Then I heard about some commotion about heartworm, a disease spread by mosquito bites on dogs. "This is a disease that is caused by Dirofilaria immitis (also known as Heartworm). It is mainly transmitted via infected mosquitoes. Hence in Singapore, this disease can be relatively common as mosquitoes pose a problem all year round. It is more so for medium to large sized dogs which are in a garden or outdoor context. As they spend most of their time outdoors, they are more likely to be exposed to infected mosquitoes.

When these mosquitoes bite, they transmit baby heartworms to the dogs. These baby heartworms will travel through the blood vessels of the dog and lodge themselves in the heart. Retrieved on 21 March 2009, http://www.petschannel.com/article/?a=32." And eventually they will die from heart failure. So I decided that my dog should be vaccinated from heartworm too. I went back to the clinic and the vet drew blood from my dog. We waited for the test and there goes another jab for her. By then, she was shivering and jumping on me as though begging me to get her out of that place.

She didn't make any noise except that scream from that microchip jab. Maybe that jab had already numbed her so that she couldn't feel any pain. I had to tel her that since we are there already, we should just make use of the time and trip to get all the jabs and done with it. By the time she got home, she could run about, tossing her toy and jumping around.

I don't think I can tolerate 3 jabs and 1 blood test, to get poke by a needle 4 times in total. My dog is the bravest. I still can't imagine the microchip getting under my skin.

*.* *.*

I see stars in the sky. It's been some time since the sky is filled with dark and red clouds.

Met up with an ex-colleague and we had dinner. I'm so glad that she is happy.

And the next verse says:
O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

*.* Updates.. *.*

First of all, thank you all for those who sent me your well wishes on my birthday through sms, facebook and msn some days ago. And not forgetting those who bought me dinner and gifts too! Thanks for remembering and making it special. =)

I've been so busy with work and school work that I could hardly breathe. Finally I can take a breather, breaks, catching up with my sleep, with new modules starting this and I just submitted my assignment. Lessons on Thursday and Friday so that makes it easier and less tiring on weekdays.

Ben and I joined cell for the first time last Saturday (finally). It's been so long since I last attended cell. It's a mix cell and there are about 15 people and most of them are in their early 20s. I'm quite comfortable with the setting, the place, the time and the people. So I guess I will go for a few more times but I quite made up my mind. Anyway, Daryl will be joining us too.

I finally got the sense of belonging to the church and I guess more to come. As the cell is going with the church direction, I think the cell leader really put in a lot of effort to make the cell a fruitful one. That's good because it encourages everyone.

I've got my first cell girls lunch yesterday after church and we talked and prayed with each other. Haven't been meeting new people so it's quite exciting for me.

And I changed my blogskin because my previous one went ku ku. I think this is quite nice.

Something to meditate about this week:
Ps 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favour and honour;
no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
